CLSF FREE-JET
Round Flame Combination
The picture (right) is Zeeco’s CLSF Free-Jet combination burner in operation at our combustion test facility.
This design offers state-of-the-art NOx reduction for combination oil and gas firing. NOx reduction for gas
firing is achieved by the Free-Jet method of mixing the fuel gas with the inert products of
combustion before the combustion occurs, resulting in lower thermal NOx production. The reduced NOx
emissions from oil firing is achieved by “Pseudo Staging” of oil by our CB oil gun design. The result is a
burner that can achieve very low NOx emissions with superior turndown. For natural draft applications, the
burner is offered with a regen tile for oil stabilization. In forced draft applications, the burner is offered
with a regen tile, cone or swirler depending upon the combustion air pressure drop available and customer requirements.
Burner Description:
The Zeeco CLSF Free-Jet burner is a Next Generation emissions round flame combination burner.
Burner Design Features:
- Stable flame over a wide range of conditions
- High turndown of 10:1 or greater for most gas cases
- Gas tips have only a single firing port and do not require a small ignition port
- Low maintenance cost since tip mass is small and exposed into firebox less than 1" (25 mm)
- Low maintenance cost since the tips do not have small ignition ports which are prone to plug
- Compact design makes this burner a great choice for retrofit applications
- Low probability of flame interaction since the burners are smaller and gas is not swirled
- Great heat flux profile
- Reasonable cost and great value
- Combustion air dampers are controlled by gears for precise control
- Bearings are used for the combustion air damper shafts for smooth, precise operation
- Configurations available: plenum mounted or individual wind-box
- Burners can operate over a wide range of fuel oils
- 304 Stainless Steel fuel gas risers
- 310 Stainless Steel (Type HK) gas tips
